As a Work Psychologist, specializing in People Evaluation, Mathilde Robakowski began her career in a recruitment firm dedicated to the professions of Insurance and Social Protection. Since June 2020, she has continued her career at La Mutuelle Générale, a leading group in this sector, as a Recruitment and HR Development Officer. As a user of the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION intellectual aptitude test battery in for recruitment, she shares her experience with the tool.
What are the HR challenges of La Mutuelle Générale?
Founded in 1945, our company is the 3rd largest French Mutual Insurance Company and insures 1.5 million members in Health and Provident Insurance. At La Mutuelle Générale, we have ambitious and innovative projects (Open work, Flex Platform, Solidarity (QWL), Product offers development...) and we are committed to maintaining the values that have been dear to us for over 75 years now: teamwork, excellence, challenge, and benevolence.
The challenges are numerous for our company, and, in order to support La Mutuelle Générale in its transformation, recruitment is at the heart of our strategy. Indeed, just as it was in 2020 despite the health crisis, 2021 is a year conducive to the integration of new employees.
Our needs cover all professions: project, operational management, IT, data and digital professions, commercial development, and marketing professions, digital... whether it is for permanent, fixed-term, internship, or work-study positions.
In what contexts do you use the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION tool and what benefits does it provide you?
To strengthen our skills assessment system and thus make our candidate analyses more reliable thanks to efficient and recognized tools, we now use the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION tool as part of our recruitment process.
We have chosen to work with the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION test battery for its psychometric qualities, which are well established, but also for its speed of administration compared to other tests. The goal is to complement our evaluation process, without being too time-consuming for the candidate. Also, thanks to the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION, we have the ability to test different dimensions in terms of reasoning: verbal, abstract, numerical... which gives us a greater precision of analysis depending on our different job typologies.
What feedback do you get from your team of evaluators?
Although we are still currently analyzing the fallout from the use of tests for our company, we are already seeing the benefits at several levels: quality of our recruitment, understanding of the candidates' reasoning mode, projections on the different positions...
Regarding the use and administration of the test, our team quickly got to grips with the platform and the DAT™ NEXT GENERATION is now an essential element of our recruitment process at La Mutuelle Générale.
What did you think of the training you received to handle the tool?
The training received for the use of this tool was enriching, both from a theoretical and practical point of view. Although the recruitment team is made up of very different backgrounds and trainings, everyone was able to find the necessary contributions for its implementation.
We were all able to train in the use of the tool and thus deliver more objective recruitments. In the long term, I am convinced that the benefit will be measurable in terms of the quality of our recruitments, but also in terms of the sustainable development of our employees within the company.
